The Ministry Council has established a year of celebrating, sharing and learning around lay ministries beginning in June 2017.
This is part of the Renewal and Reform programme for the growth of the church and to stimulate its mission.
The aim of the year is to encourage an increase in the number and range of lay ministers, with a particular emphasis on those forms of ministry which encourage mission, evangelism and discipleship.
This initiative is based on "Serving Together", the report of the Lay Ministries Working Group set up by the Ministry Council. The recommendations of the report will be developed and implemented during the coming year. You can download both the report and a digest of a national consultation, below. The consultation has helped to set the direction travel for the year ahead and took place on the 5th June 2017.
